I am the proud principal of Sacred Heart Catholic School. This is my 36th year in education.

I have been a teacher, coach, administrative assistant, athletic director, college professor, and principal.  My career has included grades Preschool through Graduate degree courses.  I have coached numerous sports, taught Art, Music, Physical Education, and High Ability students, and been a classroom teacher for grades 4, 5, & 6.  I have been a principal of a Catholic grade school, grades Preschool-8 for 13 years, principal of a Catholic High School for 2 years, and a principal in the public schools for the past 9 years.

Although I have had many experiences in both Catholic and Public schools, with a wide range of grade levels, every day that I am in the educational setting, I learn something new.  The "business" of education is ever growing and changing.  It challenges everyone involved to continually evaluate and change to meet the needs of today and tomorrow's students.

I have been married to my wife, Patti, for 27 years.  We have 2 children, Michele, 25, and Jimmy, 21.  Our treasured family pet is a miniature schnauzer, Buddy.  We live in Huntington, which gives my wife a 30 minute commute to her Kindergarten teaching job in Marion, and a 50 minute drive for me to Sacred Heart.  Both of us a blessed to have carpools!

Serving as the principal of Sacred Heart is truly a mission that I am eager to embrace.  It is an honor and privilege to join with the pastor, staff, families, parish, and community to continue the proud history of this school.  It is my goal to use every resource available to me to develop and strengthen the educational program of this school.  It is my mission to continue to carry out Sacred Heart's motto- "Sacred Heart, where God and education lead the way."

I am the librarian/computer teacher/tech coordinator for the school. This is my 3rd year as the computer teacher/tech coordinator, and this is my 6th year as librarian. I also had previously volunteered in the school choir for about 5 years. My husband, Chris & I have two daughters, both now in High School but had attended Sacred Heart during their elementary years. We also have two dogs, Shadow & Tovi, and a rabbit named Angel.

My Name is Lili Polk and I teach Preschool at Sacred Heart School. I am a graduate of Indiana University with an Early Childhood Preschool Certification. I have taught preschool for 3 and 4 years old for the last 20 years as well as coaching volleyball for the school in years past. I am fluent in Spanish, and enjoy working with children of different cultures. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband Tim, and my grandchildren.

Monica Smith has been teaching kindergarten at Sacred Heart School for the last 8 years. Prior to this, she taught 6th and 4th grades at Leesburg Elementary which is part of the Warsaw Community School corporation. She also taught 2nd and 3rd grades and high school students when she lived in the Indianapolis area. Monica was a flight attendant and involved in recruiting and training for Continental Airlines. She earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree from Ball State University where she taught in Europe through their Overseas Program. Mrs. Smith has been married to Mike for 23 years and has 2 sons named Bryce and Quinn. They attended Sacred Heart School and now go to Edgewood Middle School. Monica loves working with children of all ages. Her hobbies include reading, traveling to tropical places and spending time with family and friends.

I graduated from Indiana University in 2002 with a degree in Elementary Education and a Kindergarten endorsement. Go Hoosiers! I have been teaching for the past 7 years with experience in preschool, early and intermediate grades along with teaching college courses in composition, literature & psychology for a local business school for 2 years. When I’m not at school, I am happily chauffeuring my three boys, Michael, 10; Nicholas, 9; and Ethan, 6, to soccer practice and their numerous activities along with taking care of the “zoo” we have with our four-legged friends. In my spare time, I love to cook, scrapbook, read and travel. I have be fortunate to have been able to travel to many exciting locales including Hawaii, Mexico, St. Maarteen, Calgary and my very favorite – New Orleans.

I graduated in 2006 from the University of Saint Francis with a degree in Elementary Education and Mild Interventions. I am married to Mr. Fulk, the night custodian and we one daughter, Erin. This is my 3rd year at Sacred Heart teaching 1st grade. In my spare time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I’m excited to be back and look forward to another great year!

Hello! I’m Mrs. Kaiser. This is my third year teaching at Sacred Heart School and I love it! I have taught many years in both general education and special education classrooms. The students in the primary grades are the ages I enjoy the most. I want my students to be confident and think for themselves and to do their very best in everything. My wonderful husband is Butch and we have 3 grown sons who are super!

I have been teaching here at Sacred Heart for 32 years. I have taught grades 6, 4th, and 2nd but it’s 3rd grade that I have taught for 29 years. I enjoy teaching – I cannot imagine doing anything else. I graduated from Manchester College with both my B.S. and Masters degrees. My husband Cal and I have been married for 34 years. We have 3 children-Tara (31), Tim (28) and Tiffiani (16). We also have 2 grand daughters – Gabrielle (11) and Isabelle(5). I love spending time with my family – going on vacation to the Outer Banks, watching movies, going out to eat, or just being together. In my free time I like to read. I am looking forward to another great year here at Sacred Heart.

I have been teaching for twelve years. I have had a lot of different jobs in my life, but I enjoy teaching the best. I worked as a supermarket cashier and a waitress (not my favorite). I have a BS degree in horticulture so I had a job working in corn research, and also in garden centers. I worked in day care centers and even ran a day care business in my home. Now I enjoy teaching science and religion to the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and am a Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. My students called me Mrs. Steeler during the 2009 Superbowl. With all the extra support of the 4th grade, it is no wonder that the Steelers won!

I graduated Bloomington High School, then graduated Indiana University with a B.S. and M.S. I taught Physical Education at Lebonan for 6 years. I also taught at Niles East in Skokie, Illinois. I have also taught at Warsaw High School and was a teacher and athletic director at Edgewood Middle School. I also was a teacher and assistant principal at Lakeview Middle School. This is my 5th year teaching Physical Education at Sacred Heart.
