Patti Faroh
Academic Specialist

Welcome to Sacred Heart School!

I want to extend a special welcome to our new friends and a warm welcome to our returning friends. If you are not yet part of the Sacred Heart School Family, I invite you to visit our classrooms and inquire about the special, "Going Above and Beyond" program offered here at Sacred Heart School.

My focus as Academic Specialist is in the area of Language Arts for grades Kindergarten, and additional support for grades 1 -6. My goal is to determine the academic placement for each child and to provide the, "next best step" for them to grow as much as possible in Reading and Math.  I also coordinate all plans for students with Individual Service Plans, and serve as Testing Coordinator. I wear numerous educational "hats" here at Sacred Heart!

'Kindergarten works throughout the year to develop a strong reading foundation by learning and using the strategies to decode words.  First and Second Graders use their skills in decoding to strengthen reading comprehension techniques. Third Graders will build their reading and writing skills as they prepare for IREAD3 and ISTEP+ tests.

Throughout all our time together this year, we mix our hard work with happy times of friendship and fun ways of learning!

I am so glad each and every one of you is here at Sacred Heart School! Teaching here is a joy and an honor. Let the fun and work begin!

Educationally yours, in Christ,

Mrs. Faroh

Teacher Bio:

It is my pleasure to begin my eighth year at Sacred Heart School. I will be teaching Language Arts for Kindergarten in the morning and Reading Groups for First Grade support instructon in the afternoon. My position focuses on supporting the Reading and Language Arts and Mathematics programs for our, “Going Above and Beyond” initiative. I also oversee Individual Service Plans and work in conjunction with the Warsaw Schools for action plans.

I am in my 38th year in education. Before coming to Sacred Heart School I was a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher for the Marion Community Public Schools for 10 years. In 2005 I was honored as, “The Teacher of the Year” for the Marion Community Schools. I have also been honored to receive the, "Light of Learning Award" here at Sacred Heart. My first 20 years were spent in the Michigan City Catholic Schools where I taught grades Kindergarten through 4th grade.

I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 35 years.  We have 2 grown children: Michele (34) who works in the Marketing Division for Eli Lily.  Michele lives with her husband, Paul, in Indianapolis. They have a charming little boy named, Henry. He is our first grandbaby! Our son, Jimmy (30) is Owner of Hoosier Powder Coating in Nappanee. He is married to his wife, Stephanie. They have a delightful little girl named, Elizabeth who was born on Christmas Day! They also  have a goldendoodle dog named, Norm. They own a home here in Warsaw. Having our first two grandchildren has been a tremedous joy for us. Jim and I are the very busy owners of a 5 year old Yorkie. “Dino” is a feisty seven pounder with the mindset of a 50 pounder!  We are enjoying watching him learn to behave and become part of the family.

It is truly my honor and pleasure to, again, be part of the Sacred Heart School staff. I enjoy working with the children and families of this wonderful school!
